THE CHRISTMAS EDITION

“Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.”

(From A Visit From St. Nickolas, Clement Clarke Moore.)

Merry Christmas

Welcome to the Christmas edition of Soundings. I’m dispensing with political correctness this year because (1) I think it is too silly, and (2) Christmas has been hijacked anyway by “Christians”. The true spirit of Christmas is the birth of the Christ within you, the awakening of the soul, the realisation of your Higher Self as your true Being. This is what I celebrate.

"I belong to no religion. My religion is love. Every heart is my temple", Rumi.

Says it all!

You know, everywhere you go now you see fairy lights, Christmas trees, Santa sleighs, and snowmen with carrot noses. But the real joy of Christmas is not in the tinsel and glitter, but in the STILLNESS. This you will find by going inside yourself and listening to that inner voice.

Which reminds me of a story. I’m not sure where I heard this, I think it was on facebook but I could be wrong.

A man wanted to find a quiet spot to meditate so he got into a little boat and rowed out to the middle of a lake. There he entered a state of deep meditation when all of a sudden he felt something collide against his boat. Now all his calm was gone and he was filled with rage at this selfish person who rammed his boat although there was plenty of room to get around. However, upon opening his eyes he saw that the boat which hit his was empty. Apparently it had become unmoored and drifted out by itself.

The man laughed. What was this anger that he could so clearly feel a second ago and which he let destroy his tranquillity? All anger, he realised, is self anger. And it’s really about nothing. So, thereafter whenever someone made him angry he simply saw it as an empty boat hitting against him.

Often we think it’s the event, the unthinking person, the stimulus that makes us angry. But really all anger is self-made. We just decide how to funnel it.

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom", Viktor E. Frankl.

I go into this stimulus-response thing, and how to overcome it that you will make the correct response in Birthing the New Consciousness.

Distant Healing

Please send love and healing to those caught up in the terror attacks in Paris, and to all who suffered in 2015. Also please send special thoughts/prayers/intentions to anyone who’s feeling fear right now. There is a lot of fear out there, in the world, in the media. And sadly, it’s very infectious.

So, let’s make 2016 the year you will stop letting fear run you.

Instead of giving fear we can . . .

"Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder", Rumi.

Love that man!

As Jesus tells us:

"When you want only love you will see nothing else", ACIM. T-12. VII. 8:1

(well it is his birthday!)

A big thank you to everyone who participated in the distant healing over the past year. Your service is deeply appreciated, and has far more impact than you even realise.

Every time you are kind you become a little more like God.

words of wisdom . . .

“We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness,” Thich Nhat Hanh.

All that’s left is to wish you peace, love and yuletide cheer. Have a really good holiday and a blessed New Year.

Look out for the empty boats.

That's all folks

Take care,

Talk to you soon.
