chakra colors

the rainbow inside your body!

Color is an energy. And chakra colors are beautiful and soothing. Many healing therapists use color in their practices. Color also brings light and beauty into our world. And many overlook the importance color plays in the chakra system.

Chakras are energy vortexes located along the front and back of the body, the etheric body that is, not the physical one.

(The etheric body is the outer light body. The physical body forms out of it.)

It is probably more correct to talk about the chakra system, rather than “chakras”, which are less individual items than a series of interconnected pulses. If a chakra is “blocked” this can result in feelings of tiredness, fatigue, and lack of energy. In extreme cases energy blockages can lead to serious illness. A way to unblock these is through the beautiful healing therapy known as Reiki
Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘wheel’.

Color and the chakra system

Because each chakra color is a portal of light, it could be argued that the color, in fact, is the chakra! Certainly color plays an integral part in the system, a role I feel has been somewhat underplayed. Color affects us on a psychological level more than we realize. Ever walk into a room and you ‘feel’ good because the colors are ‘calming’, or, in alignment with each other? It’s amazing the effect it has on one’s mood. Conversely, if colors are jarring the unpleasant effect is equally palpable!

We’re going to examine the chakra system here through the prism of color, starting with the first and working our way up to the seventh, or crown chakra. Why not grab a cup of your favourite beverage, make yourself comfortable and enjoy the ride!

Okay. To begin the journey just follow the links . . . . . beginning with
