That which offends you only weakens you, Dr. Wayne Dyer

THE WAYNE DYER EDITION

It was sad to read of the passing over the weekend of Wayne Dyer. Wayne has returned to the Great Universal Oneness and is at peace. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, he was a speaker, writer and teacher, beloved by everyone whose life he touched. Among his many bestselling books are: 'Your Erroneous Zones', 'You’ll See It When You Believe It', 'Your Sacred Self', and 'The Power of Intention'. He had leukaemia. He was 75.

Our Intention Matters

In The Power of Intention, a seminal work on consciousness, Dyer talks about the holy relationship (showing his understanding of A Course in Miracles, which can be notoriously difficult to penetrate). The holy relationship is a way of seeing ourselves and others, and has nothing to do with going to church, observing rituals, or thinking you’re better than others.

Wayne writes:

“When you recognise others’ holiness, you’ll treat them as divine expressions of the power of intention, wanting nothing from them. The irony is they become co-creators manifesting all your desires. Want nothing from them, demand nothing from them, have no expectations for them, and they’ll return this kindness”.

You see many people confuse religion, which teaches people what to think, with spirituality, which teaches how to be.

Dyer set out his position:

"My beliefs are that the truth is a truth until you organize it, and then becomes a lie. I don't think that Jesus was teaching Christianity, Jesus was teaching kindness, love, concern, and peace. What I tell people is don't be Christian, be Christ-like. Don't be Buddhist, be Buddha-like."

Although the world will miss this loving person and great teacher, death held no sadness for Dyer.

“you’re eternal, an infinite soul in a temporary expression of flesh . . . only your physical body dies, that you were whole and perfect as you were created, and that your physicalness emanated from the universal mind of intention. That universal mind was and is formless – it’s the pure energy of love, beauty, kindness, and creativity, and it can’t die, since there’s no form involved – no form, no death, no boundaries, no deterioration, no flesh, no possibility of it wasting away”. (from The Powere of Intention 2004).

You see we’re not physical beings having a ‘spiritual experience’, as many think. Rather we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. We must always treasure that. There is no need to demean the body in favour of the spirit, so long as we understand its transient nature.

Wayne just about sums it up here:

“We are not our bodies, our possessions, or our careers. Who we are is Divine Love and that is Infinite”.

A great soul. Thanks Wayne, you will be sadly missed.

Distant Healing

I want to sincerely thank everyone who participated in last month’s distant requests. I know I asked a lot, and I also know you responded.

Today thousands of migrants are fleeing persecution in Syria and have landed (or are attempting to land) in Europe. They are experiencing great hardship, as can be expected with such a hazardous journey, but sadly also some opposition. So please send them your prayers and lots of good energy. See the situation being resolved for the highest good of all by Divine Intelligence, don’t picture them in their present unhappy plight.
